Garage Doors in One of Phoenix's First Planned Communities
Maryvale began in the 1950s, when developer John F. Long built it as one of the first master-planned communities in the country and named it after his wife, Mary. Today it's the most populous of Phoenix's urban villages, with more than 200,000 residents.
Many Maryvale homes have been standing for decades, and so have a lot of the garage doors, springs and openers on them. That's where most of the problems we fix here come from.
What Older Garage Doors Need
- Springs past their life. Old springs lose tension and eventually snap. A door with a broken spring is heavy and dangerous to lift.
- Safety cables on extension springs. If your springs stretch along the tracks, each one should have a safety cable running through it so it can't whip loose if it breaks.
- Openers without photo-eye sensors. Openers made before 1993 may not have the photo-eye safety sensors found on newer units.
- Worn rollers and hinges. These make a door loud and jerky and put extra strain on the opener.
- Damaged or rusted panels. Sometimes one panel can be replaced; on older doors a full replacement is often more practical.
Services We Provide in Maryvale
We offer spring replacement, opener repair and replacement, cable repair, track repair, panel replacement and complete garage door replacement, plus gate repair for homes and properties with automatic gates.
Clear Options Before Work Starts
We explain what's wrong in plain language and lay out your options, like repairing a spring versus replacing both, or fixing an older opener versus upgrading. Then you decide.
Emergency Service, Day or Night
If a spring breaks or the door won't close at night, call (602) 637-9444. We're available 24/7. Leave the door where it is and don't try to adjust springs or cables yourself.
