Common Gate Problems and What They Usually Mean
Stops partway or goes back: often the safety system reacting to a blocked or misaligned photo eye, an obstruction, or a gate that drags and creates extra resistance. Remote or keypad not working: usually a transmitter battery, programming, or receiver issue. Grinding or clunking: worn gears, a loose chain or rack, or failing wheels and hinges. Won't move at all: commonly a power, control board, or motor problem. A technician can test the operator, the sensors and the gate itself to find the real cause instead of guessing.
Gate Safety
Automatic gates are heavy and move with real force. Keep children and pets away from moving gates, never try to beat a closing gate, and don't climb on or ride a gate. If your gate doesn't stop or reverse when something is in its path, stop using the automatic function, keep people and vehicles clear, and call for service.
Residential and Commercial Gates
For homes, we work on driveway swing and slide gates and the openers that run them. For businesses, HOAs and multi-family properties, we handle entry gates, barrier arms and related access controls. See our commercial garage door services for overhead and roll-up doors.
